Here are some pictures of our Washington trip to discuss the Veterans Petition. This was a special day on a few levels because this was the day Garland Denny got to present his project to The White House, it is also his 83rd Birthday as well as the 70th Anniversary of the Invasion of Normandy.
We met with Koby Langley at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on June 6, 2014 at 11:00am. Koby, is the Associate Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement and a 2 tour – Iraqi War Veteran.
Also present in the meeting was a White House aide, a representative on behalf of Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC), a representative on behalf of Senator Kay Hagan (NC), Garland Denny and myself, Chuck Denny.
Before our meeting Dad wanted to visit Arlington Cemetery so that he could pay his respects. One of the reason’s he started this project was because so many people lost their lives on that beach in Normandy. He wants to see that all Veterans are better served because of their sacrifice and so many others.
You will see pictures of the Congressional Binder I snapped prior to the meeting as well as a White House Medallion that was a Birthday Gift from President Barack Obama presented by Koby Langley after the meeting. As we were leaving, Mr. Langley thanked my father for his service to our country and handed dad this medallion saying “Mr. Denny this is a gift from the President himself”.
We hope that you will pass this website along to your family and friends. You can also visit the Veterans Petition page on FaceBook!
